Tactical Parking Tips

Even if you are not an LEO or currently in a position where you need to be on your tactical edge every day, there may be some benefits to you knowing tactical parking for a quick getaway. In fact, this can be used for several reasons, some that just make your everyday tasks easier.

The easiest option for tactical parking for a quick getaway is backing into a spot. This spot depends on where you are at, but we recommend this even if you are parking in your driveway. You never know when an emergency will arise, and it's very important to always be thinking tactically and be prepared for any situation that may arise. Now, we know that backing into a parking spot, or pulling forward if you can, may take a little more time, but there are many benefits to this type of tactical parking.

Benefits of tactical parking for a quick getaway:

• Better view. When you are reversing, even with those nice backup cameras, you are still missing different things that could be going on around your vehicle. However, if you are just pulling forward, you can see anything that could be in the way, from a small child to an animal.
• Allows you to be aware of your surroundings. If you are past or current military or LEO, then you are familiar with the term "head on a swivel" but this is good practice even for those who are not involved in the military or law enforcement. Whether you are male or female, you need to be aware of your surroundings and what is happening around you. Unfortunately, we live in a very unpredictable world, and even having this extra awareness while leaving your driveway could help you to notice a suspicious parked vehicle or someone lurking in the bushes near your neighbor's house. While you definitely want to protect yourself, keeping an eye out for your neighbors and friends is never a bad thing.
• Ease of leaving. If you've ever been at a busy concert or event, then you know how difficult parking can be. In some cases, you may have to wait an extra hour or two to even leave your spot if you are not backed in. However, if you back in or pull forward, you can easily just pull forward and get out. You have a better view of what is coming, and will be less nervous in large amounts of traffic as well. This is the same for anywhere. When you back out of a spot, you drive more slowly, as you do not have as clear lines of sight, but when you are just pulling out, you can more easily see ahead, around, and will be on your way faster. While this may only save you a few seconds, those few seconds could actually change your life if this becomes an emergency situation. If you are running from someone or something, you need to get out as fast as possible, and as safely as possible. It's much harder to do that if you have to hit reverse.

It may take some time for you to adjust to tactical parking, but the benefits will certainly be worth it. This can come in handy in a variety of situations, and even if you are lucky enough to never face any kind of threat in your life, it never hurts to have been prepared by parking tactically.
